Fieldale Donates S2,237 To Cancer Crusade The Fieldale Community Fund has made a donation of $2,237.18 to the 1963 Martinsville-Henry County Cancer Cru sade. A check for that amount was present ed to Cancer Crusade officials in a brief ceremony at the Towel Mill by mem bers of the Fieldale Community Fund Committee. The Fieldale Community Fund pre viously made a donation to the Martins ville-Henry County Heart Fund. Allo cations are to be made to the United Fund and other deserving agencies that serve the Fieldale area. Under the Fieldale plan, only one so licitation is made in the Towel Mill each year. At that time, an employee may pledge a single contribution to be Paid in small installments through pay roll deductions for a period of 12 months. -The money raised is used for the Community Fund and other authorized fund drives. The funds are administered by a committee composed of representa tives from each department in the mill. Members of the 1963 Community Fund Committee, in addition to those pictured, are Eula Correll, Melvin Gour- ley, Bernard Haynes, Robert Haynes, Estelle Dalton and Clarence Joyce. Company Products On Display At Trade Fair Fieldcresters are invited to visit the Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. exhibit at the North Carolina International Trade Fair in Charlotte which opened April 27 and continues through May 4. The event is being held in the Coliseum and Merchandise Mart buildings. Both Fieldcrest coordinated fashions for bed and bath and Karastan rugs and carpets are being showfn at the Fair, which is expected to attract more than a quarter-million visitors from through out the world. The Fieldcrest exhibit was arranged by J. B. Lamar, head of the Domestics Designing Department and Sue Hall, a member of the department. The Kar astan display Was arranged by Archie Millar, head of the Karastan Designing Department and Alfred Puckett, of the department. The Fieldcrest Mills exhibit occupies booths eight and nine of section “V” in the center of the Merchandise Mart building, the same space that was used by the Company at the first trade fair held in November of 1961. The international fair is sponsored by the State Board of Conservation and Development for the benefit of North Carolina industries wishing to aggres sively improve their marketing.
